Natural Deodorant using Essential Oils

NATURAL DEODORANT COMIN' AT YOU! I've been using this recipe for YEARS! I started replacing all my toxic personal care products and my deodorant was the first thing to go. It is really HARD to find a women's deodorant without antiperspirant. I know you may not like it but, you were made to SWEAT! Sweating is a way for our bodies to release toxins --- so please allow yourself to sweat ;) Antiperspirants also contain heavy metals, which I do not want to be absorbing everyday into my body.

I ended up switching to a men's stick that was just deodorant. Then, I started making my own coconut oil concoction (which stained all my clothes BTW). Then, to this little gem. I absolutely love it! It doesn't leave any marks on my clothes. It is clear for sleeveless shirts and is completely natural.

I have done HIIT workouts with it and am NOT STINKY afterwards. It is da bomb! The only thing I will say is that if I am consuming too much sugar in my diet, my pits will tell me. I definitely might have to apply extra on those days -- it also is a good reminder to keep that in check ;P

I am using DoTerra oils here because they are the purest and are tested for heavy metals (whoop whoop!)

Ingredients for 2oz bottle: (make sure to buy glass bottle to prevent interaction with oils; amber glass is best to avoid contact with light)

20 drops lavender oil

15 drops lemon oil

5 drops melaleuca (tea tree) oil

Bragg’s apple cider vinegar

Everclear or high proof Vodka

Add about half of your bottle’s worth of alcohol to the bottle. To that, add your essential oils and swirl to combine. Add the vinegar (make sure to shake your vinegar bottle first) to fill up the bottle. Shake before use! I use about 5-6 sprays per arm pit ;)

*I’ve been using this for years without issue in the sun. However, if you find that are get a reaction in sun, it could be from the lemon oil. I have also made concoctions for my husband, using Cedarwood and Juniper Berry that are also quite nice.
